June cottage garden tour

Canterbury Bells, sweet peas, cerinthe (honeywort) and lots more

I finally got around to posting another video. This one is my June cottage garden tour. You will find my borders packed with sweet peas, cerinthe (honeywort), canterbury bells, and lots more but what has been really disappointing this year is my ranunculus.
I had no idea my ranunculus bed was so dry. We have had so much rain plus I do water it manually on occasion but really, with the cool wet weather we've been having I did not thing lack of water was the reason my ranunculus struggled and yet that was exactly the reason which I discovered the moment I started pulling them up to clear the bed. The soil was bone dry! Amazing in this wet spring.

I have been growing ranunculus for over 4 years now and this is the worst they have been. I think maybe due to the weather being cool and wet I could afford to leave them to their own devices. Sadly that was a mistake. The first year my ranunculus petered out is the first year I get a decent order for cut flowers but can't actually use my best crop. Ah well. Them's the breaks in horticulture I suppose

Anyhow, I have lots more videos to come. Sorry about the hiatus. Parental duties and other domestic and business affairs dragged me away from my channel and website but here I am, back and plodding on.

Videos to look forward to are my what to sow now for flowers next year.

I will also do a quick update video on my the bouquets I put together for my first retail order.

Anyhow, thanks for reading this. I am just
about to go and cut some flowers for my order so I'll let you know how it goes.
