Making money from your garden

Updated: Jul 15

Profit from your backyard

I officially have my first order of cut flowers. In fact 6 orders. Let me explain....

I recently posted a video about how to make money from your back yard, garden, whatever outdoor space you have.

I had low key been thinking about selling cut flowers from my garden since it is jam packed full but as my you tube channel started taking off it seemed alot to juggle. Not so much making up bouquets to sell but finding outlets to sell them. That's the bit that takes time. Making calls, enquiries etc, it's all very time consuming with no guarantee of sucsess so the idea went on the back burner.

This week however, I had a very chance and casual conversation with a retailer who was keen to take some bouquets off me for weekend sales. So I officially have my first order. The buyer wants 6 bouquets for next weekend and then will review depending on demand but she had noticed an uptick in interest in fresh, local, quality cut flowers.

So today I was frantically trying to rescue and plan some more succession sowing. I also have two other retailers interested but they havn't sold cut flowers before so they want less just to test how they sell.

Since I had put selling them on the back burner to concentrate on my website, you tube etc I decided I needed to put some test bouquets together, so I have picked and conditioned some flowers tonight and will be putting them together tomorrow and plan to upload a video about that.

The purpose of me putting all this in a blog is really just to back up my video and show you really how to make money from your garden. Sometimes people online tell us how easy it is to make money if you just do this or that when they haven't even done it themselves. So here I am backing up my video with real life.

I will post a video of the bouquets I make up and update you with how it is going as the season roll along.
